Cord International: Batman premiere in Colorado ends in tragic shooting
Social media (#theatershooting) erupted Monday morning when news broke out that a gunman opened fire at a midnight showing of the The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora county just 16 km from downtown Denver, Colorado. So far, there have been 12 confirmed deaths and at least 38 injured as a result of the shooting.
The gunman, identified as 24-year-old recent medical school drop out James Holmes, is now in custody and is awaiting a tentative court appearance later today. There has been no information as of yet on what his motives were.
The youngest victim was three-month-old infant. One of the victims from this shooting, identified as Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sportscaster, apparently escaped the Eaton Centre shooting on June 2 while she was on a trip to Toronto.
