I was going to write something about the game on Tuesday but I was too upset. I started to write something but it was filled with too many f bombs and spelling mistakes that I just went to bed instead figuring I would wait 24 hours and then write something with a clear head.
Well it is more than 24 hours later and I am still pissed.
It's not because they didn't win gold it was the way they lost and how they sucked everyone in.
Down 2 goals in the 3rd period with under 3 minutes to go and Canadian Hero aka Hockey Jesus aka Jordan Eberle scores twice to force overtime. Roping everyone across Canada in and making us all believe that another miracle could take place. Then it all came crashing down.
Alex Pietrangelo, who carried the defense, took a shot that was saved and rebounded right...

Canada vs USA for the gold medal in the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship. It is a dream match up and should be an amazing hockey game.
So many factors come into play when discussing the outcome of this game:
Are the Americans Mentally Recovered?
The game between the USA and Canada on New Years Eve was an instant classic. USA had a 4-2 lead in the 3rd period and ending up blowing the lead and losing in a shootout.
The Americans had to be demoralized after that and I for one thought they would lose their next game and get bounced out of the tournament. Instead they responded by knocking of Sweden and earning their spot in the gold medal game to try and exact some revenge.
Have the Americans fully recovered or will they blow it again under the crazy amount of pressure that is now on them?

With most teams in the NHL having played 33 games the season is almost half over. I haven't really written anything about the NHL in awhile and I figured it was time for me to express some of my opinions on what has transpired so far this season.
So here is what everyone has been waiting for, my 2/5 NHL season review:
Surprise Teams
33 games into the season and there are a few teams that are proving their hot starts were not a fluke. The LA Kings currently sit atop the Western Conference with 46 points and are playing some unreal hockey as of late going 8-1-1 in their last 10. I thought they would fizzle quickly after 10 games as I assumed there was no way goalie John Quick could continue to play at such a high level. Well Quick has managed to be a rock between the...

When Brian Burke was introduced as the President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 29th, 2008, Leafs fans were penciling in a Stanley Cup Parade for late June on their calendars, where they would carry Brian Burke on their shoulders down Yonge Street. Unfortunately for Leafs nation, things haven't quite worked out they way they had originally planned.
Many Leaf fans are puzzled as to why they were not enjoying instant success. There may be a couple answers to this question.
First off, instant success in today’s NHL is about as likely as seeing Belarus and Kazakhstan square off in the Gold Medal game in 2010. It’s just not going to happen my friends. In today’s NHL, you have to build from the draft up, you cannot simply buy players to win you a championship (only the New York Yankees can do this). The Leafs have...

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver are just around the corner and there will be no shortage of talent when executive director Steve Yzerman selects the final roster for Canada’s men’s Olympic hockey team. Team Canada will face colossal pressure at the 2010 Olympic hockey tournament, with every single player knowing that anything less than a gold medal will be seen as a failure. So the question remains, who will suit up for Canada in February?
Here are my picks of players to represent Canada in 2010. Players are listed by name, age as of February, 2010, and NHL team.
Goaltenders:
Martin Brodeur, 37 (New Jersey Devils) Canada’s ultimate goaltender, winning 3 Stanley Cups, Olympic Gold and World Cup during his incredible career. Not to mention most NHL wins of all-time. If it came down to winning a single game, this is the guy I would want between the...

They have the least amount of points in the NHL. They hold the worst record in the entire league. Their offense is nearly unstoppable with the second worst goals per game and the least amount of goals scored in the entire league. Their defence is basically impenetrable, allowing the most goals against out of any team in the NHL and averaging the most goals against per game. Their special teams are the ones of champions - a sloppy penalty kill and a somewhat decent powerplay and of some of their new off-season acquisitions, including Mike Komisarek, Francois Beauchemin, Colton Orr, Wayne Primeau, Garnet Exelby, Jay Rosehill, Tyler Bozak, Viktor Stalberg and Rickard Wallin, the nine of them have combined for a whopping total of seven points – not even enough for a point per game player.
Now a normal person would see all these flaws that are causing the team...
