Hawks women's volleyball back in the win column

February 7, 2010 12:48 PM

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women's volleyball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a three set victory (25-18, 25-18, 25-18) over the 11-6 Brock Badgers. This was a big win for a team that has been struggling of late having lost 11 of its last 12 games entering Saturday's action.

Big games were turned in by Tesca Andrew-Wasylik and Brittany Brunt. Julie Gordon also had a great game and really set the pace with some crowd energizing kills. Despite the offensive output it was the defence that was the key to victory for the Hawks as they had a number of crucial blocks in the first set that really set the tone for the rest of the game.
